    A good chance this weekend to spot "shooting stars" or more correctly meteorites! Known in Spain as the "Tears of San Lorenzo" this is a major event, with the possibility of up to 200 an hour crossing the skies at peak periods. The main window for spotting these is between the 11th to 13th, with the odd one possible right up to the 17th of August. They will enter the earths atmosphere at 40 degrees above the horizon in the north east.

      Hopefully we can get out to see these again this year, you have to get out of town where there's no light pollution, take a comfy chair or blanketHopefully we can get out to see these again this year, you have to get out of town where there's no light pollution, take a comfy chair or blanket and enjoy. Last year we were surprised at how clear and how fast they are.
